The Alano
Club of Sonora is a place for people in recovery to
meet and socialize in a clean and sober environment
before and after 12-step meetings. It is supported
by membership dues, club functions, and by rent
paid by 12-step meetings held at the
club.
The Alano
Club of Sonora offers the recovering individual a
place to go, to take a break and have a cup of
coffee with men and women who understand the
program and the process of recovery. We come
together to find support and to learn about the
12-step program of recovery.
The club is governed by a board of volunteer
directors elected from club membership. The club
has stayed open for over 20 years thanks to the
willingness and generosity of volunteers and
local community support.
Club membership is open to all. Members
include people who support the objectives of the
Alano Club, the family and friends of recovering
individuals, and people recovering from "a
seemingly hopeless state of mind and body".
Dues are $10 a month or $120 a year.
